Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

SmartIdeas (the business ideas database at smartideasdatabase.com, “SmartIdeas”, “we”, “us”) is operated by EduFactory s.r.o. (“the Company”). For any question about this policy or your data, contact us at info@smartideasdatabase.com.

2. What data we collect

• Account data — email address, and if you sign in with Google, your Google account email and profile name. Authentication is handled by our provider, Supabase; we never see or store your password in plain text.
• Payment data — if you purchase database access, your payment is processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your card number; we keep a record of the transaction (amount, date, plan purchased) linked to your account.
• Contact form data — if you use the contact form, we receive the name, email address and message you submit, sent via our email provider (Resend) to our support inbox.
• Usage data — standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) collected automatically by our hosting provider (Vercel) for security and reliability. We do not currently use any third-party analytics or advertising trackers.

3. Cookies

We use one strictly necessary cookie set by our authentication provider (Supabase) to keep you signed in. This cookie is required for the site to function (staying logged in, unlocking purchased content) and does not track you across other websites. We do not currently use any analytics, advertising or marketing cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first, as required by law.

4. How we use your data

• To create and manage your account, and to remember your login session.
• To process payments and unlock the business ideas database you purchased.
• To respond to messages you send through the contact form.
• To send account-related emails (email confirmation, password reset, purchase receipt).
• To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

5. Who we share data with

We share data only with the service providers that make SmartIdeas work, each acting as a data processor on our behalf:

• Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
• Stripe — payment processing.
• Vercel — application hosting.
• Resend — transactional email delivery.

We do not share your data with any other third party, and never sell it.

6. Data retention

We keep your account and purchase data for as long as your account is active, and afterwards for as long as needed to meet our legal and accounting obligations (typically up to 10 years for payment records under applicable law). You can request deletion of your account at any time — see Section 7.

7. Your rights

If you are in the European Union / European Economic Area, you have rights under the GDPR, including the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email info@smartideasdatabase.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access-controlled databases, and payment processing that never touches our own servers with raw card data. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

9. Children

SmartIdeas is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where required, notify you directly.
